About
Sarah Duncan
With over 20 years clinical experience, I work with a wide range of difficulties. I have a private practice at The Crescent in Nottingham City Centre and work as an Associate Counsellor for several Employee Assistant Programmes across Nottinghamshire.
I have worked at the counselling service at Nottingham County Council and offered therapeutic support to Children and Young people in many Nottingham City Schools.
Prior to becoming a Psychotherapist, I studied Psychology at Warwick University and worked as a Project Manager for an Experiential Marketing Company in London.
As a person, I am passionate about improving mental health and take a gentle but pragmatic approach to my work as a therapist. I am focussed on helping people to discover and use their existing strengths to achieve their personal goals.
I provide online and face to face GESTALT PSYCHOTHERAPY & EMDR for adults over 18 years of age experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties, such as anxiety (including health anxiety, social anxiety and OCD), depression, post-natal depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), low self-esteem and work-related stress.
Outside work, I am a mother of two daughters, dog owner and I love nothing more than long walks in nature.
Approach
I believe a good environment contributes to good therapy and use therapy rooms that are comfortable and welcoming.
I believe the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is fundamental to the work that takes place in the sessions and as such I encourage people to have an initial assessment and take time afterwards to reflect, before making the decision to start work.
