Online therapy
Online therapy is becoming increasingly popular and with the current COVID restrictions. This is currently my primary means of delivering therapy and EMDR. However, there are options for face-to-face appointments where necessary.
The thought of communicating through video conference or phone might initially elicit some apprehension, it’s important to know that this form of therapy is just as effective as the sessions held in-person.
This means you can continue to get the support you need during this difficult time at a time that fits around your schedule, comfortably in your own home.
WHY ONLINE THERAPY MIGHT BE A GOOD OPTION FOR YOU
- You may find it easier and safer to work online
- It could be more practically and financially feasible for you – you don’t have to travel long distances to see a therapist and it can fit around you and your time
- It may especially suit people living in remote areas.
- You can access it from the comfort of your home.
- It may feel less scary to ‘meet’ someone online rather than face to face and it can sometimes feel easier to talk about difficult issues this way due to the sense of anonymity it can provide.
- Online therapy can work well as a steppingstone for someone trying to transition to face to face counselling – such as those with social anxiety.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you sign up for your initial online appointment with a practitioner of your choice:

- The program will ask you to install a small Zoom interface, if you don’t already have it.
- You can configure audio and video during the call.
- At the time of your online zoom therapy session I will admit you to the call.
Walk and talk therapy
With Covid-19 restrictions easing, I am offering Walk 'n' Talk Therapy.

Face to face therapy
After so many months of sheltering in our homes, avoiding being in close proximity with others, and falling into a pattern of living and working remotely, it is understandable that moving back into the world, and back into the counselling room, might be anxiety-provoking.
Safety and wellbeing are top priorities for face to face sessions. Windows can be kept open for ventilation and hand sanitizer is available in the consulting rooms and toilets.
There is no waiting area, so you will be directed straight to the consultation room. No admission will be permitted without an appointment and face coverings are encouraged to be worn in communal areas.
